This section opens up the current debate around Islamic Mortgages being totally Halal or not. A number of leading scholars, Islamic writers and finance experts have produced various pieces of work outlining their arguments of for and against Islamic Mortgages and to that extent, Islamic finance. As an independent information source on Islamic mortgages, we have felt that it is important that any myths which exists surrounding Islamic finance (particularly in terms of written submissions) are outlined and given their place on this site. We want to eliminate any sense of cover up and confusion which exists about the sector.
Many of the papers outlined below are personal opinions; they have not been endorsed by any leading financial organisation, shariah advisory committee or Islamic institution / body. As such, these opinions must be perceived as personal and judged accordingly.
